MARYE DEAN, ESQ.
Attorney • Artist • Activist
Marye Dean, Esq. is a New York based attorney with over ten years of legal experience successfully representing clients in and out of the court room in the great states of Texas and New York.
From 2011 to 2015 Miss Dean worked as a contract attorney for Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP representing Fortune 500 clients following the financial crisis. This allowed her to gain experience working on headline cases involving insider trading and market manipulation. In addition to contracting out her legal services to major law firms Miss Dean also grew and developed her private law practice and in 2015 she founded the Dean Law Firm, PLLC @TheWallStreetLawyer.Com.
Prior to her career in the private sector Marye Dean, Esq. spent several years in the public sector. During law school she served as the Legislative Aide to State Representative Alma A. Allen during her first term in 2005 and organized Alma Allen Week at the Capital inviting every student in Texas to Austin to witness government first hand. Upon completion of this program she worked with state politicians, local community leaders, and students from Worthing High School to receive a grant to edify the school and local community. The mural was unveiled Summer 2016 at Evan E. Worthing High School.
After graduating law school she went on to become a public interest lawyer for Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA) where she practiced family law representing victims of family violence. As an attorney for AVDA, Miss Dean gained considerable litigation experience in matrimonial cases involving family violence. She tells a story of strength and compassion from her own violent divorce and is a known lecturer at domestic violence shelters and continuing legal education seminars throughout the world. Through Marye’s assistance and on behalf of Victims across the state of Texas a new Family Law Court was dedicated to expediting protective orders in Houston, Harris County, Texas.
Miss Dean currently serves as corporate counsel for private investors, venture capitalist, select small and mid-size corporations, not-for-profit foundations and family-owned businesses overseeing all legal matters for these entities.
